“PRESENT-DAY CORPORATE COMMUNICATION” is both timely and thought provoking. It reminds us that the nature of media is constantly changing around the world with face-to-face discussion replaced by the social media beast and the short burst chatter of Twitter. As a long term Expat and foreign correspondent, I have witnessed first-hand situations where crisis management in Asia has struggled with the concept of “face” versus common sense along with challenging circumstances when modern corporate communications have had to deal with cultural norms often at odds with rapidly evolving technology. In many ways this is reflection of the region’s majority young demographic versus its mature leadership. As the world becomes smaller through growing access to media, businesses and governments have had to re-address both their message and the means by which they deliver that message. “Communicate” is in many ways a manual for today’s media-driven world where culture and the cult of personality are often pitted face to face. We live in an emerging landscape where the most powerful influencers on youth nowadays are often populist personalities rather than traditional figure-head. Whether you are PR executive or a corporation, this book is a useful tool for those trying to navigate the communication jungle in Asia and beyond.

The book seems to stand by itself and not need other sources to embrace the subject. It is extremely thorough and reminds me of Marketing management during my studies and stands like some kind of “bible” in the field!
